Bio
Gabriela Castillo (She/Her), technical director, carpenter, painter, and scenic design freelancer, is excited to be joining the Williamston Theatre team. Previously she was the technical director for Henry V and Alice by Heart at Western Kentucky University, after receiving her MFA in Theatre Design from Michigan State University (MSU) with a focus in scenic design. While continuing her career as a scenic designer, painter, and carpenter at MSU, she designed Spring Awakening, Much Ado About Nothing, Sweat, and Head Over Heels; and Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill and Figaro at Hope Summer Rep Theatre. Prior to seeking her MFA she worked in Columbia, MD as a deck chief and run crew for five years at Toby’s Dinner Theatre. After completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) she designed scenery and worked paint and construction overhire in the DMV area.
