Description

Williamston Theatre has had a collaborative partnership with the MSU Department of Theatre since 2007. Our productions often feature the work of talented faculty members on stage, as directors, and in all design areas. We also provide opportunities, both onstage and off, for MSU graduate and undergraduate students to work alongside seasoned professionals. The MSU Graduate Showcase Evenings give graduate acting students an opportunity to present their special projects in a professional space.

The Gentleman Caller by Philip Dawkins is an adult drama about the first meetings of two of America's greatest playwrights, Tennessee Williams (The Glass Menagerie, A Streetcar Named Desire, and more) and William Inge (Picnic, Bus Stop, and more). MSU MFA actor candidates Oscar Rodriguez Quiroz and Stefon Funderburke star.

Admission is free, but donations for this performance go to Williamston Theatre. Content information: Liberal alcohol use, simulated smoking, adult language, sexual situations, and discussion of suicide. The play runs two hours and ten minutes, including one ten-minute intermission.

Coming in October...
Love, Linda; The Life of Mrs. Cole Porter uses the indelible music and lyrics of Cole Porter to tell the story of Linda Lee Thomas, whose marriage to the writer inspired some of the greatest songs of all time. In this one-person musical with a book by Stevie Holland and Gary William Friedman (also arrangements), the musical examines the complex marriage between Cole Porter, who was gay, and their thirty-five-year relationship. The musical includes some of Porter's best-known songs like "So In Love:" Let's Do it" and "Wunderbar" sung by MFA Acting candidate Katie Clemons.
