It’s been a great rehearsal process for this show, and now we’re heading into our “tech” weekend, where we add all the bells and whistles – the sound cues, the lights, it’s always a fun process for every show. (I know a lot of folks who don’t enjoy it, because it can be tedious and challenging, but I’ve always found tech weekend to be exciting – you get to see “The Show” for the first time, and it’s neat to discover how each moment grows as the whole project comes together!)
It’s a beautiful show – John really pours his heart into it onstage, and the designers have all done such wonderful work. Because we’ve done this show before (in 2009), it’s been fun to re-visit it and ask say “We loved this last time we did it, but where can we make improvements?” So, we’ve tweaked a handful of things – the width of the set, placement of a couple of scenes, some sound bits and light upgrades, that type of thing.
We’re certainly having a wonderful time putting the show together, and I can’t wait to get audiences in here next week!
