[NOTE: Tobin Hissong plays Michael in our current production of Rounding Third. We’ve asked him to write a few words, and so I give you…Tobin’s Blog!]
Wow! I’ve never written for a “blog” before. Until recently, I wasn’t even sure what “blog” was (sorry, didn’t mean to blog on your carpet!!). Anyway, Tony asked me to write a few lines about the show for the Website Blog.
The show has been up and running now for a while, and it’s holding up very well. Throughout the whole rehearsal process and into actually performing before audiences, everyone here at the Theatre have been really great to work with! Tony is an outstanding director, and it has been a true pleasure to share the stage with John. His work on this show has been nothing short of amazing. Reviews were even better than we expected, and the audiences have loved it!
We’re into our last two weeks of performances before the show closes. It’s been a great time and I will be sorry to see this come to an end. It’s funny, but John and I still seem to be discovering new things about Don and Michael every night. Not to sound corny, but it’s been a truly organic experience (though I’m still confused about how to “live in the moment” and “ride the laughs” at the same time?!?!).
I will miss everyone so much when we close. Since opening, our crew has become a nice little family! Stage Manager Erica, and Jesse and Rosemary have kept things running smoothly and we have had lots of laughs! It’s been very exciting for me to be part of the first show of the first full season for the Williamston Theatre. As they move into the future, I wish them continued success – and I hope to have the pleasure of working here again! For everyone who reads this, come and see what good work these people are doing here. It’s worth the trip. Believe me!
