Well, Rounding Third closed on Sunday. The final couple of weekends, with big houses and lots of happy audience members, were wonderful.
And now, we’re in rehearsals for Every Christmas Story Ever Told!!, which is proving to be a ridiculous amount of fun to rehearse! (And YES, the exclamation points are in the title!)
Joey Albright, Aral Gribble and Chris Korte are the hilarious cast in this one. I’m hoping that all of the fun we’re having putting this together is apparent during the production itself, because it really is a treat to rehearse with these guys. What other job lets you sit and watch some Holiday Specials from when you were a kid, just to get ideas on how to re-enact them onstage? We’ve had a blast getting re-acquainted with Rudolph, Frosty, Santa and the gang – not to mention Ebenezer Scrooge, The Nutcracker Suite, George Bailey, Clarence the Angel and Zuzu’s petals!
So, we’re almost done with our first week of rehearsals for this show. It’s a fast turnaround, this production. It’s the quickest we’ve done at Williamston Theatre so far, but it’s going well. We closed Rounding Third on the 12th, and we open Every Christmas Story… on the 24th. It’s a challenge for our small company, this quick turnaround, but a good challenge, and so far we’re meeting it.
This is a short run, only 2 weeks of performances. We’re hoping to pack the house for the whole time – then the show moves to Meadow Brook Theatre, our partners in this co-production! Tickets are already going quickly, I’m happy to report, so that’s a good sign for us that folks have enjoyed the last two and don’t want to miss this one. We’re hoping that trend continues!
More rehearsal reports soon! Thanks for reading – let us know if there’s anything you’d like to hear more about from the rehearsal process!
