And in other Williamston Theatre news…

We will be holding auditions for the first production of our 2007-2008 Season, the musical GUYS ON ICE, on Monday, August 6, 2007.

GUYS ON ICE is the story of a couple of ice-fishing buddies from Northern Wisconsin. Marvin and Lloyd spend a winter’s day in a shanty out on the ice, talking about life, love and the one that got away. Lloyd needs to save his marriage, Marvin needs to impress his would-be-girlfriend, and they both have to solve some of life’s mysteries before Ernie the Mooch steals their bait and beer. This warm-hearted tale is filled with song and laughter!

The auditions are open to both Actors’ Equity Association members as well as the general public. There are 2 available roles: Lloyd (male, 40-60) tenor/baritone, must be able to play harmonica or willing to learn and Ernie (male, 30-55) tenor/baritone, must have good improv skills and be able to play some kind of hand held instrument (guitar, ukulele, accordion). Rehearsals for GUYS ON ICE will begin the week of September 10. Performances run October 4-November 11, 2007.

Auditions will be held at the theatre Monday, August 6 from 3PM-10PM. Please prepare 16 measures of a song (accompanist will be provided) and be familiar with the sides (which are available on our website, www.williamstontheatre.org). Auditions are by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, please call (517) 655-7469, Monday-Friday from 10AM-5PM.
